thanks but i have all that info for a few years. i am looking for anything on her from her birth till at least 1914 when she had my grandmother as there is no fathers name on birth certificate.from what i have found she had william in 1907 (none of us new about him till 2 years ago),elsie(my grandmother) and her twin douglas 1914 (rockhampton)then there is francis(frank) in 1919/20. she then married shroder in 1927 in st lawrence. we don't know who bought up william or where (was it his grandparents).elsie and douglas went to the st georges orphanage(we think as borders as they were not registered there as orphans, lousia and fredrick did a lot of fund raising for the orphanage.louisa and shroder had a vegetable farm in st lawrence at the time used to delived to rockhampton and inbtween by horse and cart, their property was called byfield station, the property now is a different name, the old house gone.elsie would never talk about her years growing up.....too many skeletons in the closet maybe ??

Michelle
some ideas.
-do you live in QLD or have access to the State library?
-look into school records, street directories, have
you all possible copies of birth/marriage/death certs,
checked with local history society for info re this area of QLD:relations/stories/orphanage,land records,
divorces, probates and civil law records, Australian
"trove" newspaper search, military records.
Pauleen has a blog, regarding her QLD family research,
that may give you some ideas or leads.

Good Luck.
