Am trying to find information on Roland Boles
born about 1801 in Stokes Co, North Carolina
died 1852 in Kaufman Co, Texas
Married: Oma Elizabeth Jane (nickname Oney E)
they were married about 1820
Children are:
1.) Louisa B: abt 1825 Tenn.
2.) John Wesley B:18 May 1829 in Marion, Perry Co.,AL
3.) Francis Marion B: abt 1826 Tenn
4.) Christine Jane B: 14 June 1834 Jackson, Hind Co., Miss
5.) Levi D. B: 24 Nov 1836 Jackson, Hinds Co., Miss
6.) Margaret Elizabeth B: 15 Mar 1839 Miss
7.) Cinderella B: abt 1841
They eventually moved to Kaufman Co, Texas but not sure exactly when.
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Charlene,
I descend from Levi D. (My mother was a Boles) I have accumulated quite a bit of information from cousins on Roland's descendents, but have not yet found anything on Roland's parents. Do you actually have verification that he was from Stokes Co, NC or just NC? Roland and Oney were in Jackson Co, TN in 1820 according to the TN census.
I'd be glad to share what I know.

BIOGRAPHY: Kaufman Co. History, Volume II, page 6, identifies Roland Boles as an early settler of Kaufman county arriving in 1841. He was a North Carolina farmer, but came to Texas from Mississippi by ox wagon in March, 1841. He sat on the first jury in Kaufman county. He had original survey headright A-54 in Kaufman county. His name has been spelled Rolen, Rolin; Boles, Bowles.

Petition for administration of Roland Boles estate is on probate file #84 filed 26 Oct 1852 and recorded in Minute Book 1, page 29.
