I am not sure if it is in the same area. But my fathers family is from cross city near the gulf coast. Is that anywhere near the place your looking for.

I think Cross City is more in the central
Florida gulf coast area. My family (as far
as I know) are closer to the Panama City,
Ft. Walton Beach and Pensacola area. Thanks
for the reply, though.

I am related to the Gaineys near DeFuniak Springs FL. My greatgrandfather was Geroge W. Gainey born 12/15/1876. He had three brothers Murdock, Charles, and John. Luther does not sound familiar. When was he born and who were his parents?

Hi,
I just saw your message regarding a "Luther" Gainey.
I'm not sure what message you are responding
to. I am searching for this same "Luther". He is
a direct ancestor (grandfather) of mine. I am
unable to locate his parents. There is a George
Washington Gainey listed in the Military records
as being born about 1893 in Wausau, Fl, and
probably died in Jackson (county?) FL. I met a Murdock
Gainey in De Funiak Springs, FL in 1979. I
wrote down lots of stuff about his family,
plus I have pictures. There is a Charles
Wilburn Gainey who moved from De Funiak Spgs
to Salt Lake City, UT. His genealogy is listed
on FamilySearch.com (or org). I will go thru
my notes and see what I can locate for you on
Murdock, if you want the info.
Where do you live and who are you directly
related to from the Panhandle?

Thanks,
Mary D. Gainey

Hi,
I was going through the mail looking for information on
my husband's family and came across your Luther Gainey.
My husband is a direct relative of Murdock Gainey. Murdock
is his g-grandfather, Charles Wilburn is his grandfather, Amos
is his father. I have been trying to connect the Gaineys to the
Lisenby name and where they came from. I know that William
Lisenby Gainey was from South Carolina, do you know where
in South Carolina?

Hi, Mary,

Imagine -- we've both been traveling through life with the same name..........!!
Yes, I have all of the information on William Lisonbee/Lisenby/Lisenbee Gainey back to the 1600's. If you can receive a gedcom file, I will gladly send it to you. It was kindly sent to me by someone who has already done mountains of work on this line. I am forever grateful to him for solving the riddle (for me) of how my Gaineys connect to the Lisenby line.

Hi Mary,
Long time! Would you be kind enough to share your GAINEY/LISENBY/LISONBEE/ gedcom file with me? I have developed a bit more info but those GAINEYs continue to be elusive. However found a LISENBY link that may be part of the line and would love to see what you have. The missing link, maybe??
Thanks in advance.
