Surnames: Tuscan/Toscan?
I am looking for the confirmation of the names of the parents of John A. Tuscan b. Mass. abt. 1787, died in Bingham, Maine 1862, Feb. 25th.

I want to find out who his father was. John was listed in the 1810 census and was in Athens. It was said his father lived in NH. Does anyone have any information about him and his parents? He was my gr., gr., gr. grandfather.

Just stumbled across your Tuscan query. I'm not sure if this will be any help, BUT it might send you off in another direction....there was at least one Tuscan family living in Solon, Maine in the early 1960's. I worked with a Maryalice Tuscan (b c1945) who graduated from Solon High School about 1962 and from Farmington State Teachers College about 1966. She taught school in Winslow, Maine and lived in the Winslow-Waterville area. As far as I know she is still in that area and as far as I know unmarried. I have a 2001-2002 phone book for the Solon area which lists two Tuscan families in Solon and one in Madison (the next town). It might be worth a phone call.

Hi, can't remember if I had responded before or not, but just saw your response recently anyway. Marialyce is my sister. She now lives in Tennesee and comes to visit us in Maine once to twice a year. I am of the families you are speaking. :) Thank you so much for writing though. I appreciate it. Sal
