Looking for information on William Weber and his wife, Amelia Wentzel (she was the daugther of John Wentzel and Anna ?), who lived in St. Louis in the late 1800's. They had 2 sons, Edwin Weber and William Weber (born 01/17/09). They moved to Evansville, Indiana in the early 1920's.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. I'm impressed with all the information you've collected on my family. Are you related to the Webers?

As of today, I haven't found a connection between my Webers and yours. Over the years, I've been researching all of the Southern Indiana Webers in hopes of finding someone connected to the Fred Weber I descend from....no luck yet.

1926 NEWSPAPER: 50th Anniversary of Mr/Mrs Frank WEBER of St. Louis, MO

Surnames: Weber, Paubel, Burkhardt, Hoch, Rufle
I bought an original 1926 newspaper called the "Watchman Advocate" which has a front page story and picture about the Frank Weber's 50th wedding anniversary. It lists their children as the following: Fred, Frank, Henry, Mrs. Henry C. Hoch, Mrs. Carl Rufle, and Mrs. Herbert Burkhardt.

Mrs. Weber's maiden name was PAUBEL. She was born in Port Royal, MO, on November 30, 1852. Mr. Weber was born August 23, 1852 in St. Louis, MO.

I am not related, but I would like to connect this newspaper with a family member or family researcher.
Please contact me directly if you have an interest in this paper.

I too have been searching for the Webers from Illinois. Mainly trying to find a connection to my gr gr grandfather. We know very little about him. If any of this rings a bell let me know.
Joseph Weber married Mary Cathrine Speckjohann in 1868. He died in Aug 1878 in St Louis and is buried in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery acccording to the records burial was on Aug 23. They had 5 children all born in East St Louis IL they were Joe, Ben, Henry (my gr granfather), Anna (my gr gr grandmother) (yes the family is double related) and Christine. He worked on the railroad and was headed home for dinner and died of heat stroke. We know he was from a family that had 11 boys and 1 girl and supposedly another child that was never mentioned the family has always assumed because it was a stillbirth. His widow remarried John Brening and the whole family moved to Burns Kansas. But we have never known who any of his 10 brothers or his sister were or anything about his parents. In 1992 a cousin went to St Louis to try and obtain records but she was in her 80's, she got lost and couldnt seem to find the right office that would have those records. If this is any connection to your line let me know.

Hi Sheila,

I just saw this post and called my mom - Joseph and Mary Catherine are her gr grandparents (you and are are likely the same age!! 69? I was born in 69.) and she has information. Joseph Weber was actually Joseph Pinkelman - came over on a boat from Germany and was adopted by the Webers. One of 3 survivors - boat sank. He is said to have been Jewish. My email is erin at cannontexas dot com. Send me an email and I will forward to my mom. :) She also has info on Strotkamp - 2 of her aunts married Strotkamp brothers.

Thanks,
Erin
