Tyler County, WV 1850 census shows Dawsons on p 334A. Also, Quintus Dawson b.1834 VA/WV m. Eliza J. ? 1854, Tyler County WV. Children=Sopronia b.1855; Agnes b. 1856; Samantha b. 1857; William b. 1859. After Eliza' death, Quintus married Matilda Birch, 1/24/1878 in Tyler County, WV.Not sure of any offspring. I am not sure of the father's name, but there was a Dawson family living in Friendly,(Tyler County) WV in 1900-1915. My family is from Samantha Dawson who married Josephus Kirkpatrick in Tyelr County, WV in 1882.

Chester, have you run across any Dawsons by the name of William, probably born in the 1850's. Md. Emily Christine Walker. Some of his childen were: Mary Lou "Molly", Sally, Floyd Clayton. I have been unable to locate any information on his parents. If you have any info, I would surely appreciate your sharing it with me. Mary Lou was my grandmother.

My gggrandfather was William Dawson
b. 6/15/1814 in Pike County Ky. He died
3/07/1892 and is buried in Fort Gay, WV.
His father may have been Vincent Dawson who
is listed in the 1820 census in Floyd County
KY as the head of household. He had 1 son
and 2 daughters under the age of 10.
Pike County was split from Floyd County
in 1822.

I would not be surprised to learn that William was my grandmother's grandfather since she was born in the 1880's and therefore my gggrandfather, also. Do you know anything about William's children/grandchildren?

William had 2 sons that I know about. They
were: John R. b. 1843 @ Benjamin Kincaid
b. 1846. There were other children but I
don't have their names as yet. There was
one daughter named Permilia who was next to
the youngest. She used to visit us quite
often. B.K.known as King was my ggrandfather
He had 15 children altogether. The oldest
three by Nancy Bartram were: William, Annie
and my grandmother, Rebecca. Nancy died when
my grandmother was 5 yrs old. He married
Mary Kyle Lykins. They had 13 children.
