I have hit a snag/wall/deadend on my Great Great Grandfather whose name was John Joseph Ryman born abt Oct 1869, not sure if here or in Germany? Resided in Chicago most of his life, after comming to the US or his parents...Has anyone got any suggestions on getting info? I think I have tried just about everything !

There is a John Ryman in the 1930 census; he is listed as a 65yr old lodger at the residence, birthplace is Illinois and his parents were from Poland.

Get his death certificate from the Cook County Clerk; ask for 'a copy of the original death certificate' (the one that the doctor wrote up and signed, not the State issued death certificate), as it shows more detail.
