Looking for a obit for Thomas Dunne that died in St. Louis on March 2, 1931. He was also know in St.Louis as "Papa Dunn". There might be a article on him because he started the "Thomas Dunn Memorial Home for Working Boys" in 1930.
Thank You, Ida

This Thomas Dunne...wasn't he Father Dunne? There used to be a Father Dunn's home for boys in the St. Louis area.

I don't know much more about this, because he was from an older generation.

I am descended from Hannah Hennessy Dunne, married to T.E. Dunne, related or not, I do not know.
She died in the late late 1800s, St. Louis, MO

No he wasn't Father Dunne. His family migrated from England to Canada. His parents stayed in Canada and his siblings went to various locations throughout the U.S. He worked as a newsboy and was very poor. He married twice and had two children. He started a pawnshop and became a very wealthy man. On findagrave there has been info written about him but no family info was attached.

Attaching a link to the MO website with death certificate for Thomas Dunn, which gives his parents' names, if you don't have that yet. Maybe other information that will help too.

Do a search here, and be sure to give the year 1931, makes it a little easier.

And also spell it Dunn (not with the "e" on the end) or it won't come up.

Thank You... I just realized I posted Thomas Dunne not Thomas Dunn. I have two families with the Dunn sirname and one changed the spelling to Dunne but not this line.
