Thomas F. Bailey Sr., 82, of Canton RR1, LeRoy Twp., Pa., passed away Monday morning Dec. 28, 2009 at the Troy Community Hospital, Troy, Pa. Born April 12, 1927 in Towanda, Pa., he was the son of the late Lincoln A. Bailey and Nellie Finnerty Bailey. Tom attended the Towanda Schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In earlier years he worked on the family farm in Towanda Twp., and drove milk truck. He was later employed by F.P. Case and Sons Construction in Troy and Dunn Brothers Construction in Towanda. Tom also operated a chicken farm in Plant City, Florida for a number of years He was a life member of Canton V.F.W. Post No. 714 and a life member of Beirne-Webster V.F.W. Post No. 1568, Towanda. Surviving are: his sons, Thomas F. Bailey Jr. of Arizona, Howard Bailey and his wife, Wanda of Blacksburg, S.C., Paul Bailey of Arizona; his daughters, Juanita Brown of Laporte, Pa., Felicia Sampson and her husband, David of LeRoy, Pa., Viola Rockwell of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth Herbert of Towanda, Pa., Alice Dudley and her husband, Cosby of Saluda, N.C., Mary Smith and her husband, West of Towanda, Pa., Sherry Werkheiser and her husband, Raymond of Ogden, Utah; his brothers, Howard Bailey of Towanda, Pa., William Bailey of Towanda, Pa., an uncle, Edwin Bailey of Towanda, Pa.; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta June Mosier Bailey on Dec. 14, 1985; a son Lincoln Bailey on June 28, 1980; a brother, Raymond Bailey; and his sisters, Edna Badger, Joyce Smith, Georgia Felker and Bessie Quackenbush. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with Pastor Michael Geedy, of the Lighthouse of Faith Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa., at a later date.

Nellie Fnnerty Bailey Morse, age 92, a resident of the Bradford County Manor, formerly of Towanda, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000. Born Feb. 16, 1908, in Towanda Township, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Margaret Wilson Finnerty. On Feb. 18, 1924, she married Lincoln Abraham Bailey. During her early years of marriage she was dedicated to her home, family and farm. After her family was grown, she was employed by the Bradford County Manor for a number of years in the 1970s. On Feb. 17, 1975, her husband, Lincoln Abraham Bailey, passed away. On July 2, 1977, she married Edwin T. Morse, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1983. Surviving are her 10 children and their spouses; Ruth and John Herbert of Towanda, Ray and Ellen Bailey of Towanda, Tom Bailey of Arizona, Georgia and Howard Felker of Ransom, Pa., Joyce and Howard Smith of Georgia, Alice and Cosby Dudley of North Carolina, Howard Bailey of Towanda, Mary and Frank Smith of Florida, William Bailey of Towanda, and Sherry and Ray Werkheiser of Ohio; 52 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers Gavin Finnerty of Ulster, Jim Finnerty of Columbia Cross Roads and Martin Finnerty of Towanda; brother and sister-in-law George and Barb Finnerty of Gillett; and sisters, Elizabeth Place of Towanda and Rosellia Leonard of Binghamton. She was preceded in death by her children, Edna Badger, Bessie Quackenbush and infant twins at birth, and brothers, Gilbert, John, Gordon and Andrew Finnerty. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with the Rev. Roger Griffith, pastor of the Wysox Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia Ann Felker, 73, of Sullivan Terrace, Dushore, formerly of Ransom, PA, passed away on Monday morning, March 6, 2006 at Memorial Hospital, North Towanda Township.
Born Dec. 14, 1932 in Sayre, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln and Nellie Finnerty Bailey.
Georgia was formerly employed by the Ransom Nursing Home in Ransom. She was a member of the Ransom United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Georgia enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, archery, cooking, knitting and sewing. She loved hummingbirds and fishing and will be fondly remembered by her friends as “The Fishing Lady.” Surviving are her children, Raymond Harmon and his wife, Sally of Ogdensburg, NY, Loretta Bellows and her husband, Bill of Van Etten, NY, Debra Garrison and her husband, Dale Garrison of Springville, Tina Marie Lehman and her husband, James of Dushore, Jacqueline Campbell of Dushore; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Harmon, Stephani Ballard, Raymond Harmon, Phillip Harmon, Vanessa Garrison, William Bellows, Jr., Nelson Lehman, Sarah Lehman, Shawn Garrison and Dale Garrison; four great-grandchildren, Brandi Lee Garrison, Charity Leah Garrison, Calex William Bellows and Rachel Pamela Ballard; brothers, William and Howard Bailey of Towanda, Thomas Bailey of Troy; sisters, Ruth Herbert and her husband, Dewey of Durell, Alice Dudley and her husband, Cosby of Saluda, NC, Mary Smith and her husband, Wes of Lakeland, FL, Sherry Werkheiser and her husband, Raymond of Loraine, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bessie Quakenbush, Joyce Smith and brother, Raymond Bailey.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with Deacon Joseph Roinick of St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore and Rev. Robert Brown, pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Dushore, officiating. Interment will be in Standing Stone Cemetery, Standing Stone Township. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond Albert Bailey Born April 18, 1926, in Sayre, he was a son of the late Lincoln Bailey and Nellie Finnerty Bailey Morse. Raymond was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 54th Armored Infantry Battalion 18th Division in Germany. He was the honored recipient of the Purple Heart and one Bronze Battle Star. Raymond served as chief maintenance officer at Fort Perry in Ohio for many years. He was a member of the Troy Vets Club; the Cooties; AMVETS Post No. 261, Towanda; VFW Post No. 7378, East Smithfield; Disabled American Veterans; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 2191, Towanda; Bradford County Outboard Motor Club; and the French Choppers Camping Club. Raymond enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing and crafts. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Morse Bailey; his children, Doris Bailey of Townsend, Tenn., Raymond Bailey and his wife, Brenda, of Vickery, Ohio, Sarah Bailey of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Georgia Bailey-Trackmorten of Freemont, Ohio, and Lea Bumgardner of Washington; his stepsons, James Nowak and his wife, Sharon, of Genoa, Ohio, Robert Holcomb Jr. and his wife, Lola, of Towanda and Edwin Holcomb and his wife, Patsy, of Litchfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his brothers, Howard Bailey of Towanda, Thomas Bailey of LeRoy and William Bailey of Towanda; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and John Hurbert of Towanda, George and Howard Faulkner of Clarks Summit, Mary and Wes Smith of Florida, Joyce and Howard Smith of Warner Robins, Ga., Alice and Cosby Dudley Sr. of Saluda, N.C., and Sherry and Raymond Werbheiser of Maryland. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Kenney Nowak, and two sisters, Edna Badger and Bessie Quackenbush. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. Towanda Elks Lodge No. 2191 will hold a memorial service Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral and committal service will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Towanda, officiating. Towanda American Legion Post No. 42 will accord military honors at the funeral home Monday evening. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.
