According to a 1940 DAR application, Eva DICKEY was b. 1772 in Scotland and married - at Antrim, Ireland - to William MURPHY b. 1755/65 Londonderry, Ireland. William d. 1833 Fairfield Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA and Eva in 1835. William is buried at United Presbyterian Cemetery there and has Revolutionary War maker at his headstone. I am not certain where Eva is buried. Their children were: Joseph b. 1800 (m. Matilda McISAAC b. Ayr, Scotland), Elizabeth b. 1798 (m. George HOUSTON) and my ancestor, Nancy/Agnes b. abt. 1800 who married Hugh LAWSON (b. 1792 Ire). Keen to learn about Eva DICKEY's parents; clues welcomed.

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=84... I'm fairly certain she and William are both buried in this graveyard. However trying to decipher a couple of William Murphys out in Cumberland County PA. Hope this helps.

This is so interesting: thank you! Was this ever known as the Presbyterian Cemetery? I do wonder why a possible nickname of Evey would replace her given name of Eva but I suppose it happens. Please do let me know about those other MURPHYs in Cumberland County. I appreciate what you are doing.
