My G.Grandfather Magnus BROWN came to Canada from Scotland in 1859 to work for the HBC He had 13 children.
One of his wives was Ann NORN (NORNE). After working in the NWT for 40 yrs he retired from the HBC and moved to Athabasca AB. He built the first Anglican Church in Athabasa. He also contracted out to the HBC to build York boats in that town. I have a lot of info. on him, and what I'm really looking for is info on my G.Grandmother Ann
Norn(NORNE). I would be willing to share what I have. I
beleive Ann was aboriginal. I would love to hear from you.
Thanks!!!!

Magnus Brown

My great great grandfather's name was Magnus Cromarty Brown. He came from the Orkneys @1860 to work for the Hudson's Bay Company. I know very little about him. He had a daughter, Harriet, who was my great grandmother and he worked, possibly, in Fort Simpson. I would appreciate any information about Magnus Brown!

Your Norn is, I think maybe a brother of my Norn. I would be interested to know what you have on the Norn name. Its not a very common name so I think they probably are a related. Did you know that Norn is the name of a language spoken in Scotland. It is almost extinct now.

Hi Michael
I am also researching William Norn and Sarah Whitford. My Great Grandmother Mary Elizabeth was Annie's older sister. If you have time I would like to share/compare notes.
