James Nicholas Dinkins was my husband's grandmother's grandfather. We have been trying to trace his roots prior to coming to Texas. He and Lucia were married in Alabama and are show in the 1860 and 1870 census. He was from SC and Lucia McDonald Dinkins was from Georgia. If you are still interested and have any information about him please email.

Ten Years later: The old Dinkins home place is back in the woods on the north end of Macedonia Road. Snow Road now runs on the north edge of the property. Most of the Dinkins are buried in the Springer-Macedonia Road Cemetery about 1 1/2 miles south of the homeplace. The cemetery society takes good care of the cemetery. They have their fund raiser about the 3rd week in June each year at the Macedonia Methodist Church and sell good BarBQue.
