Good Morning, Not sure if you are still inquiring about the origin of the last name "Arreguin", but I have also been searching so I can keep a record for my children & grandchildren. I read the name derives from the area in between France & Spain. Funny, my grandchildren have blue & green eyes, my children have brown eyes, their bio father has honey color eyes, all dark hair. Check out the internet to see the name of the mts. makes sence when you look up the meaning of Arre.

Arreguin Name Meaning Spanish (Arreguín; of Basque origin): variant of Arreguí, Spanish spelling of Basque Arregi, which clearly contains the Basque word arri ‘stone’. This is either an occupational name for a stonecutter (with the agent suffix -gin), or a topographic name for someone who lived on stony ground (with the locative suffix -egi) or on a stony slope (with egi ‘slope’).

Enrique Arreguin was married to Rosita Chavez, he was one of the older brothers of my x husband Octavio de la Cruz Arreguin Leon. I had three children, Benjamin Octavio, Maria Vanessa & Hector Marcello. Enrique Arreguin lived in Sawayo, (misspelled) for his job as an engineer in Petrolios Pemex. Why you have red hair may be from the mother side. but the family name came from northern Spain & lower France. as far as I know non of the blood children had red hair. before I escaped from the terrible cruel life, Enrique & Rosita didn't have any children. this was in 1975. oh BTW Enrique's mom Isaura Leon de Arreguin was very light complected, Enrique's youngest brother Mario had green eyes. two of my grandsons, one has blue eyes and the other has green eyes and his hair is a little lighter brown.
