I AM LOOKING FOR HISTORY OF THE CROSSE FAMILY IN JAMAICA AND
SCOTLAND. ANOTHER FAMILY NAME IN RELATION TO THE CROSSE'S IN
JAMAICA IS MCDERMIT (NOT SURE OF SPELLING) THE CROSSE'S FROM
JAMAICA MAJORITY LIVE IN THE U.S. AND KNOW EACH OTHER. PLEASE LINK INFO. IF SOMEONE KNOWS MORE.

I am a descendent of Jannet Mcdermit of Jamaica alive in the late 18th century, who married a Troup from Scotland. I don't know of the Crosse connection - can you enlighten me.
I know quite a lot about my line since Jannet, but nothing before except the name of her mother.

all i know about my part of the crosse family is that my great grandfather came from Limerick in Ireland to Wales in the early part of the 20th century. Are there any other irish crosses out there?

my fathers family is from Jamaica, with a McDermut side. My grandfather was from St. Mary. Do you know where in jamaica the your family is from?

I am just beginning my search so I don't have too much information for you. My last name is "Crosse" and my grandmother's last name was "Thomas". The family was in the islands but I am not sure about Jamaica. Most of us are now in the United States. I would like to get some information from you if you are still doing research. Claudia

Hi there, I am looking for any information on...
Florence Emily Imelda Crosse.
Florence married Charles Anketell, 1883.
Florence and Charles had two children to my knowledge, Pauline Margaret Isabella Anketell, and Augustus Felix Anketell.
I am also lead to believe that Florence died in 11 April 1918, not too sure if this is correct.
I dont know when or where Florence was born. Possibilty though she was born abt 1851. Cannot confirm this.
Florence attended Trinity college for music.
Florence was a Pianist, also sang. Same as her daughter Pauline.
Florence ended up being a music teacher in 1893, Lincoln Road, Masterton New Zealand.
Any further help is much appreciated. trying to locate where she was born, also details to who her parents were.

Hopefully, you'll read this post....there are many Crosses from Ireland. My grandfather, Michael Joseph Crosse, was from Fermoy, Ireland and was the 7th son of a 7th son. I'm sure we're related!
