I am related to another line of Hinsons and wondered if they were your other line also. They are Manley Hinson, married to Maggie Nicholson; one of their sons was Clyde Alexander Hinson, my grandfather. They moved to Lancaster Co. from elsewhere, and there was a German connection perhaps not too far back; my grandfather remembers German being spoken in the house. Do these sound like any of your folks?

I have read your message posted and I don't think that I can help your trace your family line but I was wondering if you would be willing to help me? I have the names of only one family, my grandmother's. They apparently just appearred and disappearred from SC.My grandmother's name was Annie Elizabeth Hinson (b c.1897 d. 1929). She married Frederick Washington Barsh in 1919. Her parents were Joseph (I think)and Emma Foster Hinson. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Lori,
Sorry, but I don't think I can help. I know very little about my Hinson line, but none of the names you gave rings a bell. I don't know how many other web sites you've tried, but there's one that specializes in folks who were in that border area between NC and SC, and alot of families went back and forth; it might be useful for you: it's called Roots Branches -- Genealogy from the Carolinas, http://members.tripod.com/~roots_and_branches/index.htm
Good luck!
Elizabeth

No, sorry -- I think my hinsons were all related really, just somewhat far back. One branch comes through Daniel Hinson and splits a few times then comes back together. My other branch is from Washington Hinson. I have other random Hinsons married into the line tho, a 'Lil Hinson' m. Mary J. Hinson, daughter of Maredian Lily Hinson and his wife Sara Ida Blackmon.. and also a 'Will Hinson' m Drusilla Roberts, dau. of John Jefferson Roberts and his wife (deep breath here) Mahelia Luzietta Almetta Drucilla Faulkenberry Roberts.

My mother-in-law was Ida Hinson Chaney. She died in 1936, when my husband was 13 months old. Was wondering if it might be the same family. Thanks for any information.
