My aunt's info has Johann Michael with 11 children: Michael (b.1767), Johannes (John - b.1769), Anna Barbara (b.1771), Elizabeth (b.1773), Johann Nicklaus (b.1776), Maria Catherine (b. 1778), Magdalena (b.1779), Johann Jacob (b. 1783), Anton Henry (b.1785), Catharina (b.1788) and Anna Maria (b. 1790). These names are from a list of Baptisms and Burials at St Jacob's (Stone) Union Church from 1756 to 1936. I cannot make out the town in Pennsylvania where the church is located. Michael is my (4th) great grandfather. My aunt has since passed away so I can't really confirm her sources beyond the copy of the baptism list. Your postings have been helpful, though, since she was only able to go back as far as John Michael (b.1732). Thank you.

Hi, Pam ...

Eve Hofacker (1804-1837) and Adam Crossland (1800-1828) were married in Stark County, OH, Dec 19, 1822. They both were from York County, PA. They are my ggg-grandparents.

I have my Hofacker family traced back to my 9 x grandfather, Andreas Hoffacker, born 1610 in Switzerland. I don't know every member of every generation but I can track my line directly through each father for each generation.

Your Michael (1767-1836) is my gggg-grandfather, exactly the same as you, so we are directly related.

Adam and Eve Crossland settled in Ohio and much of that branch still lives here, including me.

I'd be most happy to share anything I have. You may post here or email me directly.

Hi Pam and Rae Ann,

I am from the same line of Hoffackers, although I still live in Maryland, and know more about those that remained here than those those moved to Ohio.

I'd be happy to share what I have as well.

Your Eve was the sister of my ggg George (1794 - 1876) who married Elizabeth Kendall (1810 - 1879) Their son Michael left OH for IA where my g grandfather and grandfather were born. Michael also changed the spelling of his name, for reasons unkown. My grandfather moved to MN where my father and all of his siblings were born.
My aunt's book begins with Johann Michael (b. ca. 1700 in Germany) who arrived in Philadelphia in 1732. Any info you can share that will get me back to Andreas would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your response. According to my info, your Catharina was the sister of Michael, my gggg grandfather.
I have no info before Johann Michael arriving in PA in 1732.
Any info that you have going back to Andreas would be helpful.
I already pencilled in my book. I can't wait to share some of this with my fathers surviving siblings.
Thank you again.
