My great-grandfather was a Mihelic. He immigrated to Minnesota from Yugoslavia about 1905. He married Margaret Samsa and had six children (Frank, Louis, Edward, Anne, Mary and Sylvia). His father was Gregor Mihelic whom married Rosa Goshere. I have no futher information on them. However, according to my father Frank had a brother, whose name I am unsure of, who settled in the Cleveland, Ohio area. There may also be a sister. All may have changed there names to Mehelich, but I am also unsure of this as well. Any futher information would be appreciated.

The last two weeks in August I was in Slovenia visiting my mother's relatives and trying to find some on my father's side. Incidentally, my father's name was John Michelitch (Mihelic). One of the town's we visited was Ribnica. There is a restaurant there called Gostilna Mihelic. If memory serves me correctly, the current owner is Gregor Mihelic whose ancestry included a Gregor Mihelic. If you're interested and want more info on it, please write.

Bob,
The owner of Gostilna Mihelic is my first cousin. The Gostilna was started by my grandfather, Gregor, after he returned from Ely, MN. The Gostilna was willed to my father, Aloysius, who was the oldest. He sold it for a minimal fee to his brother Frank. Frank married as soon as he returned to Ribnica. He and Teta Angela had 3 children, Gregor, Stanislava, and ??? ( I don't know her name.)

I hope to hear from you. Please reply to drvtchr@aol.com. If you give me your phone number, I will call you.
