I am looking for O'dear ancestors. My ggrandfather was Samuel Franklin O'dear. I cannot find his parents names. I am sure they came to McDowell County NC sometime before 1860 from Tennessee. Perhaps Franklin County. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Jen

All of my O'Dear's come from Franklin Co., but I'm stuck at James and Susannah (Barnes) O'Dear around 1800. Do you know their parents or where they came from?

Hi, My husband's grandmother was Sina O'Dear. She would be from the surrounding area. Do you have anything on her or her family? I think she married a Hannah. She was born in 1897.

I am looking for information on Thomas Odear listed in Franklin County, TN in 1880 census as Grandson of James Odear. I hope he may be my missing link with the Dyer family. I can't find him after this 1880 census, do you know hat became of him?
Thanks

James O'Dear and Susanna Barnes were my third great grandparents. I don't have much info on the family. I do have information on my great grandmother who married a Garner. She was Mary Jane O'Dear (grand daughter of James and Susannah). Willing to share
