Charles William Morris and Bessie Lily Sydenham

Hi,

Having trouble finding any info re my father's Uncle Charlie Morris, who married my Great grand Aunt Bessie Lily Sydenham in 1891 at Wedderburn, & born in 1867 at Mt Koorong Victoria.

According to an Authors biography re their daughter Myra,
Charles was born in England, assumedly somewhere around 1865 - 1870, but have not been able to confirm any details or parents etc.

Uncle Charlie used to visit my fathers home in Colac in the 1930's, and often had meals there, in return for woodchips he got from the Otways. He also ran a menswear shop, we think in Colac too.

Any assistance re birth, death, or any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Kellie,

Thanks for your very prompt reply to my query,
and info re Charles.

I am interested to know if you are somehow related,
and if the Digger Federation Index you quoted is on
a CD or somewhere on line.

I am fairly new to ancestry.com and find it helpful researching, but a bit limited - I haven't been able to
confirm aunt Bessies death details.

Many Thanks again - you're a star!

Hi Jocelyn,

You're a star. Thanks for your time and trouble,
and clues. I have managed to trace some of the
family movements via Census Records today.

Have only had 5 months or so using ancestry.com
and I still get a few hassles researching, so thanks
for all your hints and leads.

Jocelyn, I would like your permission to forward your posting in its entirety to the Bowles list. Harriet Bowles was mentioned, and perhaps someone in our membership knows more about her family. If you could add not only your permission but anything you might know about her, that would be appreciated.
Yours with best wishes,
Linne
