I have a friend who is looking for MACPHERSON ancestors.

He does not know where in Cape Breton they came from but has this much information.

John MacPherson married to a MACLEOD lady and had a daughter EUPHEMIA.

They lived on a farm overlooking the ocean. There were often shipwrecks in the area.

They lived near a gypsum mine.

I thought of DINGWALL as the most probable place.

Any body with knowledge of this family?

Thanks Nelson.

Nelson,

NSARM has a record for John MacPherson marriage to Betzy MacLeod in 1889 in Victoria County. He was from Little Narrows. There is a gypsum mine there now. Not sure if it was in operation in 1889.

There is a McPherson family in Little Narrows in the 1881 census with a son John who is about the right age.

Good luck to your friend.
