HENSON, WILLIAM H. and his brother JESSE HENSON are said to be Revolutionary War veterans born in Culpeper County VIRGINIA in the mid 1700's. William H. and his brother Jesse apparently moved on to NORTH CAROLINA and fought for NC in the Revolutionary War. My gggrandfather GEORGE W. HENSON was born about 1790-1799 in NORTH CAROLINA according to the 1850 Laurel County KENTUCKY census that listed him with his wife and children. GEORGE W. HENSON married Anna Forbish on July 20, 1825 in Martin County INDIANA and shortly therafter moved to "Laurel County" Kentucky.
George's sons were named William H. Henson, George Brown Henson, Elisha Henson, Cornelius Henson, and he named my greatgrandfather Stephen A. Henson ... all born before 1850.
WILLIAM H. HENSON and his brother JESSE HENSON were found living in the area of Martin County Indiana where George W. Henson married Anna Forbish.
I suspect that William H. Henson or his brother Jesse are the parents of George W. Henson and I am looking for someone that knows the names of these two Revolutionary War veterans/pensioners. My grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Hinson, and my father told me we are of "Swedish" descent and if we are, our name was probably spelled HANSON at one time. I suspect that we are of English descent???
Any "cousins" or friends out there that know the names of the children of William H. Henson and/or Jesse Henson of Culpeper Virginia, of North Carolina, and of Martin County Indiana. Does any of this "ring-a-bell" with the Henson/Hinson/Hanson researchers? Does anyone know my gggreatgrandfather GEORGE W. HENSON and/or his parents and siblings.
Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Hi! Roaten, remember me? I'm one of those Henson's that keep's popping up. Just read an old query of yours on the Mo. Henson board. You were talking about William and Jesse Henson of N.C. We just found out in our recent DNA tests, that , that line of Henson's is also our's.Seems like we are related to the Vikings that were in England a long time ago. We have been very lucky in our DNA testing, would like to get some more Henson's interested. If any one is interested e-mail me. Dorothy

Dorothy I have been researching Henson's for about 8 years now what a tangled mess. I have a William C Henson born 1821 in Vanderburgh Co Indiana with a brother John C born 1822 same. They both went from there to Wayne co Illinois then to Civil war then to MO. Have followed them through all census record from 1850-1880 they stay with the Chapmans, Burketts slovers. They are always with Phillip Henson family married to Matilda McKinny and John C Henson married to Jane Goodbread. Cannot connect their parents. Have Henson Cemetery in Orchardville and site of Fayeshane but they are not in there. William C married Isabel Slover then Mary Dale Kiser. John C married Clarinda Wilson. My g grandfather was Noah Austin born MO 1871 son Lewis Lee, my father Lewie Delmar Henson. They seem to attach to the Hensons from NC, KY, IN IL MO. If you have any information would love it Thank You I do have 3 brothers we could do DNA

Mary, have heard of your relatives, I think your best bet would go with the DNA, There are so many WIlliam Henson's out there, we found that was the best way for us to go, we found about 3 or 4 lines of Henson's we are related to.My cousin Don, says he's sent you an e-mail, he is very good at the DNA.He's the one that has worked on our lines.I will try and find what I have on your family. Please send me your compelte e-mail, mine is oldhoneypot@centurytel.net
