I am looking for information on Augustine/Rudolph Matzner who migrated to Texas in 1908. They lived in Kronnsdorf, Austria before moving to the United States.

The jewishgenweb/shtetlseeker is showing a Kronsdorf as being now KRASOV in Czech Republic.
The town is between VRBNO and KRNOV and/or North
of BRUNTAL.
Two listings show up in Krnov's phone book for Matzner and Matznerova (female).
The Czech phone book is at http://phone.quick.cz
To find information on the town: http://mesta.obce.cz
Have you checked in the Ellis Island web site for other family members?

Here is a web site for the town of Chomutov.
www.chomutov.cz
The information you want, you will need to inquire for in the Czech Republic's archive that handles that town.
Directions to the CR phone book:
in PRIJMENI type a last name, in MESTO/OBEC type a name of the town, take out the checkmark in Diakritika,
click on VYHLEDAT, click on the name to get address and phone number but no zip code there.

Hello,

my name is Gunther and my fathers name is Wilfried Matzner. He was born in Kronsdorf (Sudetenland (Germany till end of second world war), now it is Czech Republik. Till 1918 it was Österreich (Austria)) in 1940 (birthdate). The name of his father was Franz Matzner and his mothers name was Ida Matzner. (But I think it must be a generation befor Franz Matzner, because you said 1908)
His father had a farm in Kronsdorf.
My father came after the second world war in 1945, as a small child, to Bad Hersfeld (Asbach, a small village near Bad Hersfeld) in Western Germany.
They had to leave Kronsdorf, because they were German. They came as refugees from Kronsdorf to West Germany (Asbach), because the Czech people scared in 1945 all Germans away.

Maybe there is a relationship between yours and my fathers roots.

So kind regards from Germany
