St Clair and Mary Stewart

There seems to be or have been a lot of Stewart families in Carter Co. I am looking for information on the family of St Clair [b Apr1853] and Mary Stewart [b Jun 1849] who married at about 72 and had 11 children, 7 of which were alive in 1900. Their children included Thomas [b Aug 1878], Nancy L [b Apr 1880], Louannie [b Aug 1883], Manda [b Dec 1886], and John [b Sep 1891]. I have located the family in the 1880, 1900, and 1920 Census Reports for Carter Co. In 1920 they were in Pleasant Valley. This is all I know of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially as to what Mary Stewart's maiden name was.

Did a search on line and came up with the same census records as you. I did come across a marriage for a LIZZIE STEWART who married 2-27-1903 in Carter Co which names her parents as ST. CLAIR STEWART and MARY WALLACE.

I found MARY STEWART living in the 1930 census of Carter Co Ky at the age of 88 and subsequently a check of deaths in Carter County showed a MARY CARTER who died 10-2-1930 at the age of 84.
I came across the entry for her death for 1930 and it identifies her parents as GEORGE WALLACE and NANCY FISHER

The DC for MARY is #26652 and until I can view it on microfilm cannot ascertain if her husband is mentioned or the place of burial. You could contact the Boyd Co KY Library at their website and see if they could look the DC up which they have the KY DC's on microfilm.
I realize the dates do not actually match up but so it is in many genealogy records.

Forgot to include that their daughter NANCY is actually NANCY ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" STEWART.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time and for replying. It is greatly appreciated. You provided the key information that I was desperately seeking: Mary Stewart's maiden name. I did verify the marriage record for Lizzie that you gave. I found it on LDS, FamilySearch.org.

You have done more than enough; you need not proceed any further.

Again, many thanks. It is always rewarding to cross paths with an excellent genealogical researcher
