I am looking for family of Lotta Dahlquist, she would have been my great grandparents cousin. A cousin in Sweden has family photos and we are trying to identify who the photos are, the cousin also has the letters that Lotta wrote back to her family in Sweden. We have a lot of family information that we would like to share and learn about the descendants of Lotta and Anshelm.

Thanks

I realized that I left out the details that I know about the family.

The children are:
Johan Oscar born 1873 in Sweden
Carl Adolf born 1875 in Sweden
Hulda Justine born 1878 in Sweden
Henry born 1886 in Wisconsin
Joseph born 1887 in Wisconsin
Selma 1890 in Wisconsin

Johan Oscar marries Selma Nelson about 1909 and they have the following children: Helen, Opal, Hjalmer, Harry, Edith, Gladys, Esther and Gordon.

Carl marries Hannah and has the following children: Victor, Clarence and Ruth.

Huldah marries Bennie Hanson and has the following children: Charlotte, Selma, Benjamin, Josephine, Juliane, and Benjamin.

I hope that this provides you with more information. The photos are priceless and Anette and I would love to connect with more cousins.

Is this Hulda Justina? I am interested because she was born in Frändefors, where I have many ancestors. (I am not related and my ancestors came from a different part of Frändefors.)

Emibas CD:

It is strange that she was listed alone. Others leaving this parish that date were:

I found the family in the household examination records, and they weren't using Dahlqvist as a last name at that time. They must have adopted it later.

Here is the first indication of the Dalqvist surname. It seems that the father emigrated first to get a home and an occupation and he must have decided to use the name Dalqvist at that time. He then sent for his family.

You probably have the above information, but it might help others decide if they are related to you.

Surnames: Dahlquist, Lidblom, Lindstrom
Hi,
I am always looking for additional information and especially photos. My husband's great great grandfather, August Larsson Lidblom was a brother of Anhelm. His wife, Elizabeth and children traveled with Lotta Dahlquist when she and her children came to America. August Lidblom ended up in Red Wing and then eventually died in Minneapolis in 1922. I know Lotta had a sister named Anna Lindstrom (Gustav) who lived in Minneapolis. Of course the photos you speak of may pertain only to Lotta's Swedish family but one never knows!! Good luck on your search for information and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Robin,
You are welcome. No, I have never had those letters translated but was looking at them the other day while updating my database. I haven't figured out how but should do that.

Do you know if any of Shelley's photos are of Anshlem's siblings? Anyway, thanks for responding.
Marcia
