No Federal Censuses for Ohio for the years 1800 or 1810. For Ohio they start in 1820.

Oh Thanks. Im looking for the name of Benjamin Martin in either the 1800 or more likely 1810 census. He settled in what became Lawrence CO when he crossed the River from Virginia. I dont know if in 1800/1810 he would have been in Scioto or Gallia Co.

What I determined from research is that Ohio's Federal Census for 1800/1810 were destroyed. At any rate, Ancestry.com has no census images for Ohio 1800/10.

You can get more information by Googling search terms '1800 Census Ohio' or '1810 census Ohio.'

No Benjamin Martin listed for the Scioto County 1810 Tax Roll in the source mentioned; however, there is a Mathew Martin.

No Martins at all in the 1806 Tax Roll.

For Gallia County the only Martin is John Martin on the 1814 Tax Roll.

Not much help.
