I have a partial commemorative church record of St John's Lutheran Church in Kellner, WI put out around 1909-10. It was a church history listing Charter Members, New Members, marriages, confirmations and births. This was something that was given out to church members around 1910.

If anyone knows that their familiy member belonged to this church between the years of 1865 and 1909 I would be willing to look up their family member. Again, this is just a partial listing, so not everyone will be listed.

I am researching the following surnames: ENGEL, GUSSEL GOESSEL (alt sp), KNIPPEL, YETTER Debbie KONIETZKI

Hello, could you please look up any info on the VOSS FOSS (alt sp) surname. I am also looking for BELANGER (many different variant spellings BELLANGER BLONGER).

I believe my great-grandfather Albert FOSS may have been baptized there and perhaps married there. Thank you. Terry FOSS

My greatgrandfather was William YETTER b abt 1869 and d Jan 28 1952) from Kellner (Wood County or Portage County). He was married to Bertha OELSCHLAGER. They had several children--my grandmother Ella (Van GORDER), and George, Helen, Franklin, Willie. I don't know if there were more or not.

Do you have any records on any of them. (Most of them were people I grew up around, but that was a long time ago.)

I'll be very grateful if you can help.

I am connected to this YETTER family. My great great Grandfather was Gottlieb YETTER born October 21, 1848.

Your William's parents were William E YETTER b June 19, 1827 m Anna LAGING b May 01, 1851. William Yetter Sr. and Gottlieb were said to be brothers. Due to the age difference I'm am trying to look into the possiblity that they were Uncle and nephew.

According to a family tree, I obtained from a cousin, William Sr's parents are listed as William YETTER and ?LEPPINOW. On Gottlieb's death certificate, Gottlieb's parents were G. YETTER and Margareta.

William Sr and my Gottlieb were from Wuerttemburg, Germany. There were two other brothers that came over from Germany. Their names were Kris and Karl. Both died in the Civil War. YETTER was originally spelled JETTER (pronounced the same).

Your William C YETTER b June 15, 1868 and Bertha OELSCHLAGER b Sep 03, 1872 had seven children.

1. Willy b. 1894 d. 1904
2. George A. b. February 04, 1895 d. April 10, 1956
3. Ella b. October 02, 1897 d. October 20, 1992
4. Emma Mary b. 1900 d. 1900
5. Franklin b. March 29, 1902 d. December 26, 1992
6. Helen b. August 22, 1906 d. July 06, 1994
7. Agnes b. April 06, 1908 d. April 17, 1908

My Great Grandma was Rosine YETTER who married Heinrich (Henry) GUSSEL. Rosine died in 1918 during the influenza epidemic.

Email me and I can forward what I have so far.

Foss is not a name I come across very often. I have a Clara FOSS listed in my tree, born in Holland, 7 November 1869. Her father may have been John FOSS. Any connections? I have also seen it spelled VOSS and VOJS.

I came across the following recently and thought this might be of interest to you:

From the Grand Rapids Tribune [Grand Rapids, Wood Co., WI], April 20, 1910, Page 1

Fred GUSSEL, Sr., who resided about six miles east of this city in the town of Grant, died at his home on Sunday after an illness of two months from paralysis.

Deceased was a native of Germany, and was seventy-one years of age, but for the past forty-six years has resided in the town of Grant, where he engaged in farming.

He is survived by his widow and three grown-up children. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the church at Kellner, Rev. Krusche officiating.

You will find some information on Belonger/Blonger at our site:

Don't know if there'd be a connection (the Blongers have no descendants, though the Belongers have many).
