We are hunting for a ggrandfather's gravesite. His name was Jeff LaFrance and there may be a young baby girl by the name of Mary LaFrance.

Jefferson dates we believe were 1840/1842 to 11/17/71
Mary would be 1866 - 9/11/86

The Highland Park Public Library has a web site. You can find it by typing in Highland Park Public Library, click on Explore Highland Park, then Local History and finally Highland Park Local History. There is a picture and short description of the original Railroad Men’s Retirement Home. I have the following information from the 1930 U.S. Federal Census, Lake County Illinois, Deerfield Township, Highland Park Illinois taken April 12, 1930, Enumeration District #21, at the Railroad Men’s home located at 929 South Saint Johns Avenue. I hope this helps.

I am looking for any of the old cemetaries where he could possibly be buried. He lived there during that time after the Civil War. All we have is that he lived/died in Long Lake, IL and that he had been working on someones farm.
