King Solomon joined the Kentucky Volunteers on 1 Nov 1847 and went to Texas to fight in the Mexican War. He was wounded at Vera Cruz, Mexico and was discharged on 15 Jan 1849. After returning home and finding his wife had died, King moved with his son, his mother, his two sisters Amanda CHANDLER Duncan and Sally Ann CHANDLER Duncan and their families to Van Buren Co., AR.
