Hi Belinda,

I do not know very much about your family other than your GGGreat Grandfather was in business with my GGGreat Grandfather Robert Franklin Austin. They owned the worlds largest wholesale Grocery concern Austin Nichols Company in New York City. I would love to learn any information you have about their partnership. Your relative out lived mined by many years. Also there was a tragic part to your GGGreat Grandmothers death she was murdered and set up by some of her staff.

Hello Hilary:

Glad to get your email. However, I have done a little research and found the we are talking about 2 different Nichols. My James T Nichols died in Saco, Maine in 1917 and married Abigail and never left Maine as far as I can tell. Your James E. Nichols died in Austria in April 1914 while on vacation with his wife, Elizabeth Griggs.

I found these articles that have information about your Nichols:

Sorry, I couldn't help you with any information. But your story about the Nichols is certainly interesting.

Is it
1) James was born, and died, in New Hampshire
2) James never left Maine
