I have Bowen relatives from Martin Co., NC and saw one of your surnames for this area was Bowen. Do you have any information on a Sessions Bowen who married Elizabeth Biggs? He was born abt. 1780 in NC. Elizabeth was born 4-18-1792 in Martin Co., NC. He had a brother named Sparkman Bowen and possibly brothers named Nathan, John and William Bivin. He later moved to Wilkenson Co., GA then Dooly Co., GA where he died in 1858. They had 11 children the first four born in Martin Co.:Nathan, Bryant, Samuel & Joseph.

I am collecting *ALL* GURGANUS info, any spelling variation (of which there are many), anywhere, any time before 1900. I'm putting it all into one database hoping the lines will merge at some point, going back to a common ancestor. So if you have any GURGANUS's, I may already have at least part of your family listed.

Although not in my direct line, I have a Matilda J. Gurganus born about 1838-1839 who married Levi Jackson, Jr of Washington County, NC. They had at least one child Charles C. Jackson (b: abt 1866). Matilda is also listed on the 1880 washington county census as a 21 year old spinster living with William Henry Jackson (and family)- my direct line. William was the brother of Levi Jackson, Jr. If you have any information about her that you can share, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm looking for information on Eva Gurganus. She died a few months ago before we could meet. I just found out she was the half sister to my grandfather Roy Vance Thomas. So far I have not been able to trace either of them. So if you have any information that could help me I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.

I've probably already sent you an email on another website and if so, I apologize. I lost touch with my father's family for almost 30 years and have only recently discovered that my great-grandmother was a Dora Gorganurs (spelled this way on my grandmother's application for Soc.Sec. number) Dora's husband was George F. Brown. My grandmother was Lillie May Brown who married a Weathersbee. Lillie May was born in 1901 in either Washington NC of Beaumont county or Beaumont NC in Washington county. The copy is very smudged, so I am not totally sure on this point. I also remember an aunt Dora who lived in Robersonville, NC. If you have any info, I would be very grateful.
Thanks, Susan
