I don't know if this will help anyone working the HIX line - I just happen to have info because it branches off from my own line. I have from New Kent Co.- Lucy HIX b ca 1718 married Thomas TILMAN ca 1738 and died 3 May 1763. At some point they moved to the Goochland Co. area as did his sister Susannah who married John WOODWARD. The time frame and locations seemed too much of a conincidence. Lucy probably related in some way to Sarah HIX. Hope it helps!

Lucy Hix and sister Winifred Hix were the daughters of Daniel Hix. Lucy married Thomas Tilman/Tillman, Sr. in 1738 and Winifred married James Bates. Daniel Hix was the son of Joseph Hix, Sr. Joseph Hix was the brother to Sarah Hix who married Martin Martin. Joseph and Sarah's father was John Hixe who served as a doorkeeper to the House of Burgess.

One post on the Internet claims that John Hixe and his wife Sarah Preston had a son named Daniel (among several other children, including the Sarah and Joseph Hix, Senior mentioned in your post). Per your post, a LATER Daniel Hix (son of Joseph Hix, Senior) had Lucy and Winifred, correct?

Are you aware of a women named Avice Hix? It appears that a William Davidson, of Goochland, Co, VA in the 1740s, married a Hix women, and a grandaughter of that couple was named Avice Davidson (she married a James Dove in Patrick Co., VA in 1802). Her parents were Richard (son of William) and Mary (Ward) Davidson, so she certainly was not named for her mother. Another relative of this Davidson family in Patrick Co., VA named Levinia Davidson married a man there named William Willis in 1795. I wonder if he was related to the Diane Willis who married Samuel Hix, Senior, another son of John and Sarah (Preston) Hix?

The above William Davidson had another apparent son (in addition to Richard) named Goulder/Golder Davidson. I suspect that he was named after the son of Samuel Hix, Sr. with that same given name. I wonder if the name "Goulder/Golder" came into the Hix family via a connection to the Preston (or maybe more likely) the Willis family? Thanks!
