Has anyone come across my Scottish YOUNG ancestors while researching documents? Any leads, regardless of how remote, would be greatly appreciated.

My YOUNG ancestors from Scotland are alleged to be in Baraboo, Sauk Co., Wisconsin in 1851; and thereafter, all family members disappears for a period of 45 years. Based on the death certificate of Robert Stephen YOUNG, my grandfather, he was born 1851 in Baraboo, WI and his father was identified as John YOUNG, b. Scotland, and mother unknown.

I found a marriage certificate on Robert Stephen YOUNG as a 45 year-old marrying my 20 year-old grandmother in 1896 in Creek Nation, Oklahoma Indian Territory. The 1900s censuses indicate both of Robert's parents being born in Scotland.

So far, I haven't been able to locate John YOUNG's family in either the 1860, 1870 or 1880 census. Family legend indicates that Robert had a younger brother known as "Jim", a gold prospector in Colorado. I would be most interested in knowing if John YOUNG had siblings, the name of his wife and who their children were.

Could Robert Stephen YOUNG have had a previous family some of which may have perished in a disease epidemic or forbid the thought, he deserted?

Do you have any information on the wife of John Young born in Dumfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland? I think I'm looking for a John Young with a wife named Jessie, born in Scotland. My John Young is believed to have died between 1860 and 1870.

Did John Young of Dumfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland have any children? My grandfather, Robert Stephen Young, is believed to be the son of John and Jessie Young. Robert named his first born daughter, Jessie.

Do you have the timeline when your Young ancestor immigrated from Scotland to Virginia and moved to Sauk Co., WI?

Are you aware of any Y-DNA data on your Young ancestor?

I think it was about 1775 that they came from Scotland. Some of the family moved from there to Ohio, then Wisconsin. Others moved back to Virginia.

My Y-DNA test results do not match anyone with the Young surname. However, my test results match 36 of 36 to five individual men of surname, Moore. I do not know if my ancestor is a Moore descendant who was: (1)adopted by a Young family; (2) named Young Moore and later dropped the Moore; or, (3) born out-of-wedlock to a Young maiden and the father of the male child was a Moore.

I got my results back and have both Moore and Young in my DNA. My brother did his too but I have only seen some of his results so far from his tree. You can contact me via email and we can talk more about this.
