Hi there, cousin.

I, too am researching Bernard John Borchers, Born August 7, 1832 in Freistern, Germany, Married April 19, 1866 to Katharina Timmerman and died March 8, 1920 in Dayton, Ohio. Actually, that is my husband's step-mother's side of the family that I am researching. We are having our first family reunion in July in New Hampshire, and I am planning on putting out a book by then about what we know. The information I have at this point is from Sr. Jeannette Francis Borchers, a retired num still living in Cincinnati. She is the daughter of Bernard John Borchers and Anna Agnes Schenk Borchers. My mother-in-law, Marguerite Katherine Borchers Creager, was Sr. Jeannette's sister. "Marge" died in 1997. I still have contacat with several family members in Cincinnati, but Sr. Jeannette is the most informative. She sent me some realy neat information on Father Clem Borchers, who was a missionary. Let's trade information. My email is CREAGER424@aol.com and my name is Anita Harnois Creager.

I am a first cousin of Sr. Jeanette Francis Borchers. Our grandfather Bernard Borchers who married Katherine Timmerman settled in Ft. Loramie, Ohio. I was born in the home in which they settled. My father John Joseph Borchers died in 1945. I would like to share information with you.

Do you have a John Fredrich Borchers anywhere
in your family tree? My grandfather (above)
married Mary Hoffman of Delphos, OH sometime at the
end of the 1800's or beginning of the 1900's.
I cannot find him on any immigration lists and
wonder if he might have been born in Ohio. Since
Ft. Loramie is close to Delphos, I wonder if he
came from this area. MarianCM@juno.com

My grandfather's brother Gerhard Heinrich (Henry) Borchers b. 1843 d. 5-6-1898 (55y)from Frierstein, Twistringen, Hannover, Germany married on 11-7-1867 to Magdelena Herlage b. 12-25-1847 d. 8-27-1893 (46y)of Glandorf, Ohio (not too far from Delphos). I have more information about some of their descendants but do not have a John Fredrick. If you wish to contact me via Email I could send what I have and you can check it out.

Thanks for your information. This may be a promising lead because
John Borchers married Mary Marie Hoffman of Delphos, whose parents were from
Glandorf, Germany and immigrated to Glandorf, Ohio. My grandmother's mother was
Mary Mini Ricker from Ottoville, OH very near Glandorf. I live in Monroeville,
Indiana just across the stateline from Van Wert. I will be going to California
where my Grandparents eventually spent their lives and will be looking for more
information on them in May. I would appreciate any information you have on
the Fort Loramie or any Ohio area Borchers. I am sure there
must be a connection. John also had a brother, Deittrich (maybe spelled wrong) known as
Dick and 2 more brothers Herman and Fred. There were also
sisters Sophia and Gezene. My e-mail is MarianCM@juno.com.

Hi My Borchers came from NEW YORK CITY,NEW YORK,and their names were FERDINAND and MATILDIA BORCHERS.They were my grandparents.Ferdinand died in June 17,1945 as I was just a baby then. I have no information on his wife actually I have no birth dates for any of them except for my dad who was Arthur Walter Borchers and he was born April 18,1918 and died in Haddon Heights,New Jersey on Feb.4, 1979.He remarried and had two sons by the names of Richard or Dick and Tom no information on them as they won't have anything to do with me. I'm a thorn in their sides I guess.I had my own mother but was adopted by my stepdad and I get the same treatment there also. I'm not the type of person to hate and I try to get along with all of them but my husband says I have too big of a heart and it's made of too much gold and I let them get away with too much. Dad had a sister by the name of Anne Borchers Graf she married Al Graf when I don't know and I have no dates of birth, marriage,or death dates for any of them. So if you could help I'd be deeply appreciative,Thank you, Regards, Vicky Borchers Cox Harkness

Sorry, Vicki, I don't see any connection with my Borchers. Mine came over from Germany in 1848, and the first generation in the US were Heinrich and Johann. They went straight to Southwest Ohio to settle in Joseph Stallo's area, after leaving Twistringen, Germany. There are still many Borchers in Twistringen today, living on the farm our ancestors left. Good luck. It's hard to get info. from relatives, who are not interested in what you are doing. Keep at the actual records-births, baptisms, marriages, deaths, land, immigration etc.
