I am related to a Joseph Bucher from Cincinnati. He arrived in 1904, age 19, with my great grandfather Johann Pikar from Kisorosz, Hungary. They are relatives of the Kartye and Pikar Family somehow. I am just beginning to put these details together. My Aunt Suzanne Briggs of Cincinnati has all of these details.

My Grandmother was Elizabeth Pikar Zimmerman (Nicholas). Do any of these names sound familiar. If so, I can probably provide the details you are looking for.

My great-grandfather was Joseph Charles Bucher who came to this country sometime after his brother Eberhard Paul Bucher who reportedly came in 1876 through Cincinnati, Ohio to learn the butcher trade. That was their occupation when they settled in Cairo, IL. It occurred to me that they might have had reletives already there at the time. They were from Ravensburg, Wurtemburg, Germany, Sons of Aloysius Bucher and Maria Katherina Meir. They had 5 other brothers and sisters. I am just hoping to find some record of them having been in Cincinnati and or some reletives there.
Thanks for any help you might have.

Hi Carolyn, my name is Paul Mueller, a lot of time has gone by since your post and this one. My Father was Frank George Mueller and Mother is Eve (Paulman) Mueller, My Grandfather was Nicholas Mueller (He arrived in Cinci. in 1907 at age 18, he worked in the slaughter house)and my Grandmother was Magdalena (Bucher) Mueller, I believe Magdalena's Fathers name was Henry Bucher and her Mother was Katharine (Katze) Bucher. I think the Pikars were cousins to the Muellers(?). There was a Blacius Bucher who my mom always refers to as Uncle Blozzy. Your Aunt Sue and my Mother Eve have known each other I believe a long long time. I hope your Aunt Sue is doing well.

Hi Carolyn, I talked with Mom today and she says the Pikars were cousins of the Buchers. Aunt Sue was my Moms Oldest brother John Paulmann's second wife and they had a daughter Sue who married into the Springmyer family. I remember the wedding even though I was young, the reception was held at The Twin Lanterns on Harrison Av. in Dent.

Dear Paul, I can't believe I just ran across your message from January. My Outlook has been disconnected and I just got up and running again.

Believe it or not, I just got back from visiting Aunt sue, Susan and the rest of the family yesterday. I live in Canton, Ohio -- just four hours away from Cincy. All are doing well. Aunt sue is 91. We spent hours talking about family and old times. I remember meeting your mom and dad at Bill Briggs's wedding about 35-40 years ago. Hope they are well. My mom, Blanche, was Sue's middle sister. Sue lives with my Aunt Betty.

So nice to hear from you. I'm very interested in Genealogy and have met many distant cousins on-line. Regards to you and your family. Carolyn Hoelzle

Paul,

I have a Henry Bucher in my family and I'm wondering if there is a connection. His father was Joseph Bucher who immigrated from Germany about 1870 I believe and settled in Dayton, Ohio
