Looking for any information about her and husband, Michael, why she came to Syracuse, NY with Patrick Hurley, 14 years her junior as a family group. Hurley is listed as step father to her children

My mom's name was Catherine Carew. Her maiden name was O'Shea. She married my dad, Phil Carew who came from Newfoundland about 1926. The lived in Brooklyn, NY where I grew up.

Aileen,

I stared a message which may have been aborted or partially sent.

Thank you for your response. The Catherine Carew (nee Agar) that I am looking for is my great, great grandmother who came to Syracuse, NY via Liveerpool in 1847. Age 35, she came with 6 children ranging in age from 1 1/2 to 10 and settled in Syracuse, NY. She was accompanied by a Patrick Hurley (age 21) and in one list was Catherine Hurley with the children as Carew.

Beyond that I have hit a brick wall. The family story is that the family came from Waterford and Tramore.

Again thank you.

Elizabeth

Re: Aileen Carew from Ireland to Newfoundland
to US? Where in Newfoundland, St. John's/Logy Bay?
And where in US, Brooklyn, NY? If so e-mail me.
There are three Aileens/Eileens I know of in
my family, all of us named for our Grandmother
Aileen Carew (nee Malone) who died in 1950 in Brooklyn.
Also, there are various census from Newfoundland
available for searching online at
http://www.isr.bc.ca/~jveinot/cghl/newfoundland.html.
