My husband and I are researching our families. His father's family is from Pico, Frosinone Italy. It is a small town located south east of Rome and near the Abbey of Montecassino. Neighbouring towns are Campodimele and Pontecorvo. We are interested in rebuilding the family history as it pertains to Carnevale's in the USA and Canada. Specifically, in Mass. PA and RI.

Please post message. Thanks

My grandfather's family was also from Pico; they came to America in 1914 or so. They settled in Utah, then in Los Angeles. Many family members stayed in Pico, however. They apparently had a family property and everything. I have more information and pictures if you are interested!

Terribly sorry to clog the message boards with superfluous posts, but I suppose I forgot to mention my name is Carnevale, which was somewhat implied and very useful to know. I may as well give my grandfather's history, while I'm at it. His father's name was Giovanni Antonio Carnevale, one of Angelo Carnevale and Loretta Marcucci's eight sons. He moved to America with brothers Arcangelo and Damiano. Giovanni married Giovanna Maria Caparella, also from Pico. Let me know if this helps!

My grandfather was born in Castro, Italy which I think is near Pico. His name was Guiseppe Benedict Carnevale and settled in Rhode Island.
If there is a connection, I will be happy to send you what information I have

Sorry it took me so long to post a reply. My father in law and his father have both passed on. My father-in-law was Cosmo Bernardo and his father was Francesco. Francesco or zio Ciccio as he was known was born in 1904. He served in WWII and was taken prisoner he was then MIA until 1947.

We know of other Carnevale's from Pico who are not relatives and will pass on the information in case they are related to you.

Hi Frank,
Sorry it took so long to reply. We have relatives who live in Pittsfield MA right now. I'm trying to piece together everyone's names. My grand father was Francesco Carnevale. He had a brother that moved to Pittsfield. My family came to Toronto, Canada. Another relative went to Leamington, Ontario. I'm working on getting as much info as possible. I definitely want to connect the tree to MA.
For instance, I know that my father, Cosmo, has a cousin in Pittsfield, MA named Florence. I've actually had contact with her niece, Annette, that I recently found again.
Can you give me anymore details?
