We are attempting to locate descendants of or anyone who knows descendants of Rudolph Darensbourg, born in Lucy, La. He was born c. 1884, the 2nd, 3rd or 4th child of Frederick Charles and Sarah DeLille-Darensbourg of St John's Parish. We're people of color but based on pictures of his parents and siblings, one of which is my grandmother, his race may not have been readily ascertained. He was not known to pass for out of his race. Last heard from in the Mississippi Delta on a cotton farm belonging to a woman he married. Left home at age c.27 as a traveling salesman. Elder relatives say he became farmer and minister, demonitation unknown as family was Catholic. He is alleged to have married a widow with children and had several with her, 10+. Several of his family members were musicians and he may have played an instrument as well.
This is a long shot but his baby sister of the 13, is 93 yr, very alert and well and would like to know of him as he left Louisiana when she was a small child c. 1910.

I was doing some research today and came across this posting of 8 1/2 years ago. ...UPDATE: I found Roudolph Darensbourg in 2004. There wasn't a lot but all the clues bore out as correct. I have since shared the information with his living sister. Quite a thrill for the family. The sister is the only remaining child of Frederick Charles and Sarah DeLisle Darensbourg...She lives her in Los Angeles and is 102 yrs. I saw her August 2008. She is absolutely beautiful.
