My grandparents were Giovanni(John) and Maria Rosa Romano Fratto from
San Giovanni in Fiore Calabria. His parents were Pasquale and Mary Lavigna Fratto.
I want to know if anyone has any information about Pasquale and Mary. Iwould like to know if he had any brothers os sisters
John came to this country about 1910 and went to Utah but had to leave back to Italy in 1912 only to return to settle in Clarksburg WV
He had a brother Antonio and a sister Rose.
My educated guess is that all the Fratto's are all related if one goes back far enough.
Any information would be appreciated.

Sam
My grandfather was Giovanni Fratto. He was born in San Giovanni In fiore, Cozenza Calabria, Italy.
He married Maria Rosa Romano Fratto. He came to America via Ellis Island Around 1910. He went back to Italy for a couple of years
And then returned. He Initially lived in Utah on his first visit here but his sisterWho was living in Clarksburg West Virginia talk him into coming to West Virginia.
The rest is history. He did have Relatives who came from the same town visit him for a while and then moved to Utah. I have been trying along with a few of my family to
put together our relatives who came to this country and don't know. My grandparent had four sons and two daughters. The sons names are Pasquale,Antonio (deceased)Louie( my Father),
Emelio(deceased). The daughters are Anna, Mary(deceased).
I feel very confident that If we go back to the same town in Italy that surely we are related. All we have to do is put the puzzle together.
Next time you talk to your grandfather Sam,ask him if he can remember his relatives in Italy .
I'm anxious to hear from you again.
Sincerely,
Bill Fratto

my grandfather was little when they came and i dont think he remembers alot about Italy...but i have an aunt in Utah who is putting together the family tree...she gave some of it that shows what i wrote before....i went to Ellis Island last year and saw my great-grandfathers name etched on the monument...i'm going down again on june 15....can't wait...love that place...what state do you live in?..how old are you?....if you would like...leave your e-mail address, ok?....one neat thing i found was that Mary Fratto, daughter of Guiseppe, born in 1902 in San Goivanni in Fiori....married Mike Anselmo.......well boy was i suprised to find that out, seeing that in 1985 i married a girl named Andrea Anselmo!...everything must be ok though...i have two very healthy and handsome boys named Anthony and Michael Fratto..11 and 9.....so the Fratto name will be around for awhile....haha.......again thanks for answering..

Sam,
I live in a small town of Lumberport just outside Clarksburg West Virginia.
I'm 51 years old and have two children one 28 and one 26.
my e-mail address is llf@iolinc.net.
One of these days I too would like to go to Ellis Island. I have been to New York once but when I was there
they were working on renovating the Usland and no one could visit there.
My father,Louie and my mother,Lois visited San Giovani were my grandparent were raised and visited some relatives on my
grandmother's side. She was a Romano. My dad said that all the Fratto's had moved out by then. That was about 12 years ago.
I do know that I have relatives in Utah with the Fratto name. I just don't know which ones.
They probably don't know me either.
Well, Sam if you get anymore information I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
Bill

Bill, you were given the wrong e-mail address for the Marilyn Fratto in Utah. It is Italy84120@AOL.com. I do have info on Samuel Fratto, and those from Italy, same place as your grandparent was born.
