I found out that the name of Myrtle's father is Charles Jarchow. Can anyone help me find what happened to him? He was a son of George and Caroline Jarchow who lived mostly in NE, but some in SD. Thanks

I am searching for information on George W. Jarchow who was with the Army and had a hotel at Pine Ridge, South Dakota and translated from Sioux to English. He also farmed arond Gordon, Nebraska. He married Caroline L. Brinker in 1880. They had 5 children - George F., Charles L., Mabel C., Myrtle & Frank.

Does this sound like your family? If so, would like to communicate further.

He was my Great Grandfather. Are you his daughter or a grand daughter or in-law. My Mother was June Jarchow, daughter of of his son, George. I have a picture of Caroline.

George's brother was Charles Jarchow, who was my husband's grandmother. I have this family very well researched if you want any help on it. I have some pictures too if you'd like to share and trade.
Thanks

Ahh, Louisa - it is good to see you are making some headway on your Jarchow research. We communicated back in 2007 via e-mail and the responses above are the first I've gained and you have circled back into this communication now. I am maintaining an offsite Jarchow file for the Gregory County website if you have anything you would like to share for that purpose. You may recall I am a research host for USGENWEB's Gregory County, SD website. I am also a part of a group of folk from Boyd County, NE interested in local history and have several contacts on the ground around Butte that are always helpful if you run into additional questions for that area.

I am VERY interested in your Jarchow file and still need some help on a couple of things in Gregory Co. and Boyd Co. Could I contact you offlist?
Thanks, Louisa

I believe this may be the Myrtle Jarchow that was adopted by or lived with John J. Doyle and Daisy Dell Babb Cook Doyle who were married in South Dakota in 1907. If so, I would like to get some information as Daisy Dell Babb Cook Doyle was my great grandmother. Please reply to terry.jenkins@acd.net.

Thank you.

I just read your message from 2009 and would love to know what you've found in your "offsite Jarchow file". Also, I have never been able to get any help with the actual newspaper clippings of what happened to Myrtle's mother after her father's death. I tried interlibrary loan twice for the microfilm roll, but it never would come in even though its listed on the archive site. So if there's any way to find someone who could look in the 1908 Dallas newspaper for me I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks
