Hi,
This is Maggie Mar who is related to Tirso Mar from Veracruz Mexico. I currently attend UT @ Austin and feel that I am related to him and possibly you. I also have an uncle named Javier Becerril Mar who resides in Mexico City currently. My mother Magdalena Mar Izeta was born in Tampico Mexico and currently resides in Laredo Tx. Hi! My name is Christina Mar, born to Antonio Mar. He was born to Margarito Mar and Juana Soni. Margarito was born to Fancisco Mar. Anyways, my understanding is that my family originated from Veracruz, lived in Tampico and has extended to California, Texas and Michigan. We are originally from California and now live in San Antonio, TX. My father has stated that Veracruz Mar's are considered to be relatives. I have also heard that the original Mar's came from Germany. I dont know what truth this has.

I am a Mar descendant but from Scotland. My ancestor was The Earl of Mar, from Mar Scotland. As far as I know, that is where the name originated. To what countries it went, I don't know. If you google the Mar name you may find some very interesting information.

Where, in the United States, did your family immigrate to... assuming they did? I'm trying to figure out if I have a Mar or Marr in the family. Unfortunately, the ship he was aboard classified the entire passenger list as from "Brittan and Ireland," which doesn't tell you much. and with a first name like "John," I'm really struggling.
