Moorcroft in Derbyshire

William and Patience Carrington lived in Boylestone, Derbyshire (possibly Mount Pleasant Farm) in 1881. I'm trying to find out if the farm had previously belonged to Patience's parents and if her maiden name was Moorcroft.
According to the 1881 census, they had William's brother-in-law, John Moorcroft boarding with them at the time. Both John and Patience were born in Boylestone, while William wasn't. This makes me think that it could be Patience's brother, rather than a sister of William's husband!

Any confirmation (or otherwise) of my theory would be gratefully received.
