I am searching for information about the Sweigert line. Any leads are appreciated. What I have is as follows:

John R. Sweigert was born in 1976 in Pennsylvania. He married "Barbara". They moved to Wayne County/Stark County Ohio. There may have been more kids than this, but John and Barbara's known children were Esiah S. born in 1827, Rebecca born in 1832, Catherine born in 1833.
Esiah married in Wayne County, Ohio, in 1848. Two possible wives are Mary Ulrich and Elizabeth Erniel Frankhouser.
Esiah had children Charles H. Sweigert born in Wayne County, Ohio, May 28, 1862, and died January 14, 1930, Mary, Ella, Elizabeth, John, Harvey.
Charles H. Sweigert married Emma Walter on December 18, 1883, in Westbrookfield, Ohio. She was born November 27, 1861, and died October 28, 1936.
Charles H. and Emma Sweigert had children in Ohio, Hobart, Carrie May born in January 1889 and married Elton Henning, Goldie Viola born October 1898 and married Guy Notman, Grace Victoria born November 28, 1890, and died August 23, 1977, in Stanwood, Stark County, Ohio, Henry born August, 1885, who migrated to Missouri, Harvey?, and Charles Walter born in 1900.
Thanks for any kind of help.

My grandfather was Henry Herbert Sweigert, born in Ohio in 1885. He had a brother, Harvey Isiah Sweigert, born in Ohio in 1895. Is my Harvey your Harvey's father by any chance?

This is a long shot. This is probably the strangest e-mail you've gotten, but my name is James Martin Sweigert. I'm 38 yrs old and I live in LA. I come from a
large family of 5th generation Californian Sweigerts that go back to 1800's SanFrancisco and San Jose, CA.

Geneology bores a lot of folks but we have a pretty good idea where we come from and I know a lot of Sweigerts came out of Maryland and Pennsylvania. Do
you or your folks, or grand folks have any good records that date back that far and is there anyone else I may contact? I hope I'm not a bother but since I
started this thing its gotten pretty interesting. Our name is believed to have come from Sweikart in Baden Baden in the Black Forest in Germany. I'd just like to
fill in some blanks along the way. Hope this helps you.

Sincerely,

James

Here's some stuff my brother David found out:
David: our stories are converging. I have many photos of Kate Downie
Sweigert, who was a formidable lady. I am surprised at the Chicago
birthplace of Adam Jr. It was my impression that the family came directly
from Lancaster Co, Penna. The telephone book of Lancaster Co today has about
two pages of Sweigerts and roughly similar spellings. I also have the horse
sale document and Adam Sr's obituary. It mentions that he left a substantial
gift to St. Paulus Lutheran Church here in SF. We are now living just a
couple of blocks from that site. The old church was just recently torn down
and a new building is going up. George A shows up only once in the SF
directory, in 1905, as attorney at law. The San Jose Sweigert history does
need to be filled out. There is a Sweigert Street in Berryessa, in the hills
just east of San Jose, which family tradition says is the site of a Sweigert
berry farm, owned by whom? Probably Adam Sr, whose obit appears in the San
Jose Mercury for '98 (1889?). I have also seen the recording of the
marriage of
William J and Annie Egan in the register of St. Joseph's Church, San Jose in
(as I best remember, 1898). It appears that your grandfather and my mother
were born in San Jose just before the family removed to San Francisco. It
would also be good to learn something about Adam Jr's death: there is a vague
story that he was killed in an accident at Woodward Gardens, the popular
amusement park in the Mission district, at Valencia and 12th. So lets keep
gathering data. Look forward to seeing you and meeting your family.
