I have the estate record for Sarah Tharrington who died in 1812. Her executor is my gr gr gr gr grandfather Enoch Tharranton. He held the estate sale on the 4th day of January 1813. Those in attendance at the sale were Enoch, John, Thomas B. and Jesse Tharranton. Do we know who this lady is?

Another interesting, though possibly unrelated, point is that Thomas (I'm assuming this is Enoch's father) Tharrington's final estate sale was held on the 4th day of July 1813. All that remained to be sold was a tract of land (puchased by Enoch) and some negro slaves (purchased by non-Tharringtons). So Sarah and Thomas may have died within a few months of one another and both share some relationship with Enoch Tharranton.

North Carolina will abstracts 1760-1800 has a listing for Thomas Tharrington (1799), page 118, that also mentions John and Sarah. If she was the wife of John then he or one of his sons would probably have been named as executor (if that even would have been necessary given that John was still living), not Enoch. She could have been Thomas' wife or sister. The census information from the period only gives the number of "free females" in the household, not their ages.

Those are my kin folks. I'd love to have a copy of that if you are willing to share. Thanks Martha
