my grandfather was born in 1909 in seattle his sister was born we believe in 1913 in seattle his name was nicholas collins his sisters name at the time he remembers being mary he was 6 she was 2 in about 1915 they were told their parents died in a train accident and he was put in a catholic orphanage for boys and she was put into a catholic oprhanage for girls he was looking for her until his death in 1962 with no luck i have been trying to find any info on them for my mom we came to a dead end any help on censes or anything listing there names would be appreciated i know their parents names father was gus nicholas collins and mother georgiana smith hopefully someone can give me a direction to go on

I found my great grandmother in the 1900 census. She was in a place known as House of Providence, which was located in Vancouver, Clarke county, Washington. I don't know anything about its history, however. This may be a place to start though.
