My husband is from San Pier Niceto, and we have a vacation
home there. We travel there 2 or 3 times a year. We just
returned from Sicily. There is a wealth of information in
their telephone books. If you are interested, we will be
glad to pick up a phone book for you. I hope that this
helps. Yes!!! there are many Prevites in S. Pier Niceto.

Tana,
Sorry!!!! I should have responded sooner... I lost the WEB site... My husband's name is NOT Previte, but we know a lot of people with that surname. We grew up in the city of Niagara Falls, New York, and there were a lot of Prevites there. As far as I know, they were all from San Pier Niceto. I do have a Messina phone book at home and will be glad to share some of that information with you about San Pier Niceto. Please post your e-mail address so that I can write back. Yes!! we speak Italian/Sicilian.

My paternal grandfather was 'Gaetano' Sciotto (1895-1980). He came to this country some time after the turn of the century. I know nothing of his parents or where they were from, or whether he had any brothers or sisters. Any information would be much appreciated.

Gaetano had two sons; Frank (deceased 1980) and my father Peter (born 1931). I have two brothers. Thomas is the oldest (born 1956); my younger brother is 34 and I'm 41.

My father was born around 1890 in Sicily some-where, maybe Reggio Calabria. I have been told that he had brother or brothers and sister or sisters.

Any help with Italian relatives or families with Sciotto. From the Reggio Calabria area. I would think that all w/the name of Sciotto would be related.

I would've been 37 when you were 41.
