Hi everybody,
I am looking for the Amos family in Midland Park. I have acces tot the census from 1890 and 1920,1930. There is a gap between that periods.
Specialy I am looking for:
Henry Amos and his wife Carrievandeberg
John Amos and his wife Bertha.....
Tunis Amos and his wifes Lucy Midema / Alice Outslay

And also the kids etc. A welcome for every peace of information.

Living at 169 Franklin Avenue

Amos, John, Head, 37, married 16 years, born in Holland, both parents born in Holland, Immigrated 1881, Naturalized, working as a carpenter

Bertha, wife, 34, mother of 4 children, 3 children living, born in New Jersey, both parents born in Holland

Anna, daughter, 16, born in New Jersey

Abraham, son, 14, born in New Jersey

Jacob, son, 10, born in New Jersey

Looks like these are your Amos family.

Henry Amos is on the same page, Line 50. His family is listed on the next page, 13B. It looks like his wife's name is Annie and his daughter's name is Carrie. It's not always easy to read the handwriting.

Amos, John, born Sept 1872, 27 years old, married 6 years, born in Holland, both parents born in Holland, immigrated 1882, 18 years in the US, naturalized, working as a carpenter

Bertha, wife, born Oct 1876, 23 years old, mother of 3 children, 2 children living, born in New Jersey, both parents born in Holland

Annie or Anna, daughter, born April 1894, 6 years old, born in New Jersey

Abram, son, born ? 1896, 4 years old, born in New Jersey

You will find Tunis Amos and his family in

1900 Federal Census, New Jersey, Bergen County, Midland Park, ED 17, Sheet 9A, Line 7

Could not find Tunis and his family in 1910.

Thanks for the information. Who can gave me the surname of John's wife Bertha?????. Or where can I find that surname????

You might want to post a new query asking how to get a copy of the marriage certficate of John and Bertha. This would give her maiden name. The 1910 census says they were married 16 years so the marriage date is 1893-1894. You could go to www.cyndislist.com and look for a volunteer in New Jersey who would go to the archives and see if they can find the info. I live in Florida. I do not have access to any New Jersey records. Sorry I cannot help you with this.
