could anyone help me with research I'm stuck at this point, new to the game but getting there slowly. From what relatives have told me, my great grandfather was called Dougal Cameron and was born 11th November 1837. Does anyone have any information. It would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Simon,

The Parish Records for Morvern have the following entry(the nearest to your date):

"Dugald Cameron born 12 September 1837 to Archibald Cameron and Jean McLachlan,Kyle."

Kyle is closely adjacent to Lochaline - any chance this is your ancestor?Do Archibald and Jean crop up in Dougal's childrens' names?

Regards,Chris.

Hello
I'm new to all this. Did you get anywhere?
My Great- Great- Grandfather was Dugald Cameron, married Sarah MacDonald. I think he was born around the same time. The problem is the names Dugald, Sarah and Archibald are everywhere- even now!
I think Dugalds parents were Allan and Catherine.
Does this sound similar?
Cheers
