Looking for descendants of William TAYLOR b England 1820 lived in Illinois where all of his (and wife Lidia, Lidie, Lydia) children were born after 1851 through 1871, afterwards moving to RoundRock, Williamson Co. Texas. As far as I know, this family is not related to the well known family and they had nothing to do with Taylor, Texas. We know of these children, William J Taylor b. Feb 1860, Ill. Edwin T. Taylor b. Nov 1861 Ill., Lidia (Lydia,Lidie) Taylor b.c. 1864 Ill., Emma Idella Taylor 1865 Ill., George M. Taylor, Sept 1866 Ill., Charles H. Taylor Sept 1869 Ill., and Martha E Taylor 1871 Ill.,
Am primarily concerned with birthplace in Illinois of these children and perhaps some descendant (other than my husband) knows something of their life in Illinois and where in England William (too common a name to pinpoint at this time) was born.
Thanks
Betty Clifton

Was your William born c. 1860? his sister was probably Lydia B, who married Daniel Clifton. This is my husband's line and they were the children of William Taylor born in England and Lydia A I believe. If we are talking about the same family, you can contact me at bclifton@inreach.com I live in California and we are snowed in at the moment. I examined every single census record for Ill. for a William Taylor born in England for 1860 and never found the father. I am a specialist in English research and have been for the past 25 years, so perhaps we can push this back further. Please let me hear from you...this is exciting because since 1978 I have not found anyone working on this family. I followed some of the children down in the Censuses in case you don't have them.
Thank a bunch
Betty

Still in the game, and since I have been working on this line since 1980, am anxious to see anything you have found. Haven't worked on these Taylors for a couple of years...have another William Taylor of Prince Edward Island I am working on for a friend, need to get back to my childrens' William Taylor. Thank you for answering my old querie.
I am something of a expert on English research, made many trips there before computers became so easy to use.
Cheers
