William R. "Bill" Andrews, 77, 606 Elm St., Rothschild, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at his home.

Bill was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Wausau, Wis, to the late William A. and Marie (Bloom) Andrews. He married Louise E. Bruess on June 1, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wausau. She preceded him in death on April 17, 1977. Bill served proudly as a U.S. Marine during World War II as a weapons mechanic. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in Rothschild in 1983 after 32 years as a millwright.

Survivors include two sons, Scott (Bonnie) Andrews, Wausau, and Kirk (Jill Nicklas) Andrews, Banks, Ore.; one daughter, Jane (Greg) Rubey, Stevens Point; two sisters, Ann (Don) Goralski, and Gladys (Norman) Lambrecht, Wausau; his grandchildren, Todd, Corey and Lindsey Andrews, and Meg, Kyle and Shawn Rubey; and nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister, Mary Ellen Healy.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Allan Slowiak will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements.
