"Austria" at this date meant the Austro-Hungarian Empire which extended from the Baltic to the Balkans, east into today's Ukraine and west into Italy. Something like a dozen acknowledged languages, 23 different countries - and so on and so on. I honestly do not think you will get far unless you can narrow it down a bit. Name of a town, language spoken at home, religious denomination - any clue? At a guess Iwould say the name sounds Czech or Slovak - but it could be several other ethnic groups. Might help you if you google up a map of the A-H Empire and you will see what I mean.
